Is it really free?

Yes. No account or watermark. JPEG, PNG and WebP photos: up to 32 MiB / 32 megapixels, resized locally to a maximum side of 2048 px. GIFs and other formats: 10 MiB; animated GIFs also have frame and memory limits.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Both tools run in any modern browser on desktop and mobile. There is no extension and no download.

Will my photos be stored?

No. Conversion happens locally in the page. Nothing is uploaded, so there is nothing for us to keep.
